Some days you can see a problem getting a full team together well in advance. A friday night winter league fixture, 19:45 kick off out at Brøndby, the first Friday after both pay day and the removal of COVID restrictions, with a forecast of cold, rain, and snow, did not bode well for a big turn out. Despite these fears the boys rose to the occasion and 13 brave souls made their way by bikes, trains and automobiles to Brøndby stadium, then a little further to the exposed astro pitches next door. The opposition had no access to changing rooms, so changing was done in whatever shelter could be found. It's fair to say at this point the general feelings were ones of regret!

Nothing lifts spirits more than kicking a football, so when the game was underway spirits immediatly lifted, and the team of A's, B's and trialists set to work breaking the oppositions high line. Kontra's sweeper keeper was intercepting most of the balls over the top, until Tom caught him off his line and hit the crossbar from just past the halfway line. The keeper was a little more hesitant from that point on.

Jonas opened the scoring for Celtic with a splendid looping finish after being played in by the opposition, however Kontra equalised in the second half from a poorly defended corner. Heads did not drop however, and up stepped Colin to rifle home a chance from the edge of the box to put the boys 2-1 up. Chances were spurned, but the defence was tight and the game was seen out comfortably.

A handful of the victors googled up a local bodega called Scotch pub, so a visit from CPH Celtic was innevitable. 3 points, a good run out and some beers more than made up for the conditions. A great start to the winter league for the 11's!
