Celtic ruthlessly dismantled Newport County at Kløvermarken to boost goal difference and keep the pressure on Mangfoldigt at the top. 3 goals in each half were the spoils for a game they dominated from start to finish , with long periods of possession grinding County into dust. Following some neat passing outside the County box , Rado flicked a lovely through ball for Andrei to score the opener. Rado doubled the lead soon after with a close range finish following some pinball around the box. Robbie was rewarded with the third following remarkable persistence and a careful run right on the opposition touch line. County were struggling to retain the ball and they went direct instead with long balls and throw ins now their only avenues of attack. This second half began slowly with the hoops holding onto the ball patiently and waiting for the chances to come. There was a slight unease as the half went on, as a goal from County would put the wind behind their sails. While they continued with the occasional aerial assault when they got the chance, Celtic were safe as houses at the back with Alec solid as ever and punching away a couple of tricky high balls. Last weeks hat trick hero Rado left his shooting boots in Valby, and had an unusually off day in front of goal. This was combined with Countys goalkeeper making some incredible saves. But Celtic got it together as the half went on and County tired. Robbie played a great pass to Andrei who had once again slipped in unnoticed , and he made it 4. More pinball in the box for the 5th, Andrei getting the last touch to complete his hat trick. The sixth goal was more business as usual, tidy close possession, Jon played the killer pass and Robbie did the rest. A second 6-0 of the season, and a third clean sheet from their 6 games so far. The appetite to improve and play better is there, but the foundations look good
