League unbeaten Celtic headed to Klovermarken to face midtable Dynamo Fremad, battling two of our most terrifying enemies: a 5.30 kick-off and grass.
Things started perfectly as the oppo generously started a man short and we flew out the traps. Andy and flying Finn Henri both showed good composure to score from close range, though several missed chances, including one chance that had the gaffer thinking “Slavi Shallisubhimov” rather than “Hristo Stoichkov" kept the hosts alive.
Naturally, we've seen this movie before and Dynamo punished us, pulling it back to 2-2 through a tidy finish and a defensive mix-up.
After further positional confusion we settled down. Aleksei swept everything up at the back while Big Paddy channeling his inner Ragnar Lothbrok marauded forward to restore our lead.
Lawrence added one with a smart drilled finish, while there was also time for me to do a Kevin the Teenager impression and Andy to audition as the Incredible Hulk after some questionable refereeing. Thankfully, we found the only ref on Amager allergic to yellow cards.
Feeling guilty for the moaning, I laid one on for our Viking hero who finished like a seasoned striker and made further amends late on with a quick double after a lovely through ball from Chris Mac and clever decoy running from Spas.
Final score: 7-2.
Star Player was Sam, calm and classy at the back. Another strong team performance from the super dooper Hoops. Roll on next week!
